Making

Making again after a break of nearly 6 months. Made 50 odd jugs over the last weekend of half term. These are all destined to be gifts for guests at my brother's wedding in July. Don't want to go to work tomorrow..want to play with clay.

Googling Myself 2

Been googling myself again....

I was one of the top ten creatives of the week for PSFK back in March....

Jo Corbett

I'll just mention that Claire Palfreyman mentions that I've mentioned her...

And Joanna Woodbridge AS Textiles student saw my work at the RWA...

"In this piece which I saw at the RWA autumn exhibition the artist has created small ceramic pots glazed in yellow and red and displayed them in a mirror triangle. The shapes are similar to the felt bowls that I have made and a similar efect is created because the glaze is seen both inside and outside the vessel. I will try using mirrors to present by piece."

Falling Out With Blogger

My laptop and I have fallen out with Google Chrome and the new improved Blogger, which has made it impossible for me to blog for ages. I think we're now in recovery...but we're still a bit grumpy about it.

Jug of the Month - May

A SylvaC Totem jug in a jade green. It might be an egg separator but I'm struggling to see how that would work. Just found out that SylvaC needs a big C at the end. That's exciting and new.

Here's some more in the same colour...

And here's an amazing cheese plate in an olive green. I really want one of these...

Jug of the Month - April

Found this advert on brill website http://www.thepotteries.org

This Greydawn jug is a pretty pale blue and about 7cm high.  Johnson Brothers produced this colour from the 1920s to the 1980s. Mine's very old. I can just tell.

Jug of the Month - March

An Alfred Meakin jug from a charity shop. Lovely bluey green colour. Marked with an arrow on the bottom and the year 1972. So it's as old as me. I dropped it just outside my front door and it now has three long cracks in it. Well done Jo.
